The Fruitport girls tennis team continued its success in dual match play on Monday with a nice 6-2 victory over Sparta in non-conference action.
The Trojans swept all four singles matches and won two of four doubles matches. All of Fruitport’s victories were by straight sets.
Winning in singles were Josalynn Nowicki (No. 1), Emma Fecher (No. 2), Tara Sweet (No. 3) and Gracie Ferrell (No. 4).

Nowicki and Ferrell both won 12 of the 14 games that were played in their matches.
Fruitport’s doubles winners were Bailey Poort and Abby Poort (No. 2) and Cara Hooker and Brystol TenHove (No. 3).
The Trojans are now 3-1 in dual matches this season. They will return to action on Tuesday in a conference match at Coopersville.
“Conditions were cool and extremely windy, making the match a challenging one from a player’s perspective,” said Fruitport head coach Brad Busscher. “The girls did a great job focusing on their games on their court and fighting through the elements.”
