The Fruitport baseball team opened the 2025 season with a pair of really big wins over Kelloggsville on Monday.

The games were the first two for the Trojans as members of the O-K Silver conference.

Fruitport won the first game 19-0 in three innings. Senior pitcher Ryan Bosch tossed all three innings, striking out seven while allowing no hits.

Fruitport completed the sweep with an 18-0 win in the second game. Hazekamp pitched all three innings, striking out eight and allowing no hits.

Bosch had a big game at the plate, producing three hits and knocking in six runs. Lillmars, Flynn and Thomas Anderson also had multiple hits.

“Entering a new conference without much experience against these teams, there was a lot of uncertainty, both about our opponents and ourselves,” said Fruitport Coach Nick Reed. “However, I felt we came in laser-focused and ready to compete, and we came away with two strong wins.

“It’s always great to start the season with success, but our players understand that it’s not about how we start. It’s about how we finish. That said, this is a great way to begin.”

The Trojans will finish the series with a game at Kelloggsville on Tuesday.
