LAST YEAR: 4-11-4 overall, 0-6-2 in O-K Blue conference. Lost to Allendale in postseason districts.

This is a very promising group of young players who have performed together at a high level since they were very young.

OUT OF THE BLUE: The Trojans had the misfortunate of competing last year in the brutal O-K Blue conference, which produced two state champions – Spring Lake and Hudsonville Unity Christian. Another conference team, Holland Christian, was a state semifinalist.
INTO THE SILVER: The Fruitport girls might find their new conference, the O-K Silver, far more to their liking, just like it has been for the Trojans in most other sports. Last year four of the other seven teams in the Silver finished below.500 – Belding (6-7-4), Comstock Park (4-11-1), Godwin Heights (3-13) and Kelloggsville (1-17). Defending champion NorthPointe Christian was 18-4-2, second-place Calvin Christian was 15-6 and third-place Hopkins was 10-7-2. Fruitport coach Kyle Hall considers NorthPointe Christian, Calvin Christian and his own team among the favorites this season.
FIRST GAMES: Friday at home vs. Hart, Tuesday on the road at Spring Lake.
OUTLOOK FOR 2025: With four returning starters (including an All-Conference defender and the team’s leading scorer), six other experienced returnees, and five freshmen who are good enough to come straight to varsity, this season could be a lot brighter for the Trojans. Competing in the O-K Silver should give the team the chance to take a step forward and grab some victories without having to upset a bunch of state-ranked superpowers.
COACH QUOTE: “We will be a young team this year that looks to continue its growth as it enters play in a new conference.” – Kyle Hall.
