The real measure of a team is how much it has improved from the beginning to the end of the season.

In that measure, the Fruitport girls bowling squad gets high marks.

Here’s an example. In their first conference match of the season, the Trojans had a game score of 460. On Thursday, the Trojans rolled a 602 score, their best of the season.

That big game helped Fruitport plow past NorthPointe Christian 28-2 on Senior Night on Thursday, in the final regular O-K Silver conference match of the season.

The victory was only the third of the season for the Trojans, but they have been showing big improvement in recent weeks, which demonstrated that they kept working and never gave up through the tough days and weeks.

The Trojans won both baker games to take an early 10-0 lead, then swept both regular games.

Maddie Smith, Joe Pider, Kadie Juska and Harper Simila won their individual matchups in Game 1, with Smith rolling a team-high game of 148.

Pider, Gen Franklin, Mya Herrygers and Kadie Juska won their matchups in Game 2, with Juska rolling a team-high 170.

“We are so proud of our girls team,” said Fruitport Coach Tim McKeeby. “We finished up our conference play with a nice win for our seniors.

“Both seniors – Kadie Juska and Joe Pider – had a great night. Kadie bowled a 321 series and was our Most Valuable Bowler! We will miss Kadie’s bowling talents and heart a lot! Joe switched from one-handed to two-handed bowling recently and her improvement in the technique is starting to show. We will greatly miss Joe’s enthusiasm and determination.”storageeddieminith brands
