The Fruitport girls bowling team continues to show progress, but let an early lead slip away in a 21-9 loss to Kelloggsville on Wednesday.

The Trojans won one of the two baker games, and the bonus points, to take an early 6-4 lead.

But they lost both regular games, 585-495 and 601-543, allowing Kelloggsville to gain eight points.

Kelloggsville also won the two regular game bonus points.

Fruitport’s Maddie Smith

Fruitport’s Mya Herrygers had a personal best game of 129 while Maddie Smith rolled a 131 in half of a game, then rolled a 123 in her full game.

The Fruitport girls are now 2-10 overall and 2-9 in O-K Silver conference play.

The Fruitport boys had a similar fate, falling to Kelloggsville 26.5-3.5.

Keenan Camp rolled a 398 series for Fruitport while Corbin Judd had his first 200 game of the season.
