The Fruitport wrestling team certainly looks ready to compete for a conference title on Friday.
The Trojans improved their overall record to 13-2 and their O-K Silver conference record to 5-0 on Tuesday with a pair of dominant victories.
Fruitport downed Kelloggsville 72-7 in its final conference dual meet of the season, then blanked Forest Hills Central 77-0 in a non-conference match.
The Trojans gained a lot of points by forfeit against Kelloggsville, but easily won all the competitive matches.
Alex Aardema (132 pounds), Davis Johnson (144), Ethan Riggs (215) and Luke Westerlund (285) all pinned their Kelloggsville opponents.

There were more actual matches against Forest Hills Central, and the Trojans won them all.
Johnson, Westerlund, Alex Aardema, Kalan Teeter (165), Chase Rosema (190) and Zach Aardema (126) all pinned their opponents.
Darren Veltman (138), Blair Zimmer (150), Cooper Lengkeek (157), Carsen Crow (175) and Phillip Stone-Tyler (113) all beat their opponents by major decision or technical fall.
“The team looked great tonight,” said Fruitport Coach Chad Johnson. “We had some competitive matches that we were able to put away.”
With their perfect conference dual record, the Trojans will be one of the favorites in Friday’s O-K Silver conference tournament at Belding High School. A first place finish would clinch the outright conference title for Fruitport.
