The Fruitport boys bowling team staged a big comeback on Tuesday and beat Belding 18-12 in O-K Silver conference action.

The Trojans lost both baker games, and the two baker bonus points, and trailed 10-0 early in the match.

But then they went to work, winning the first regular game 900-800 and the second game, 919-813, to gain eight points.

Fruitport also won the two regular game bonus points for total pins.

The Fruitport boys are now 8-3 overall and 6-3 in the conference standings.

“Congratulations to our boys team for having a great win over Belding,” said Fruitport Coach Tim McKeeby. “We did not let the score, lane conditions, or anything else distract us. We were focused and determined to do our best to win and we did just that.”

The Fruitport girls team dropped a close match to Belding, 19-11.

Fruitport’s Keenan Camp, who rolled a 207 game.

The girls match was the opposite, with Fruitport sweeping both baker games, 125-118 and 122-107. The Trojans also won the two bonus point and led 10-0.

The Fruitport girls are now 1-8 overall and 1-7 in the conference.

“Our girls team continues to improve and had a nice day on the lanes,” McKeeby said. “We started strong with winning both bakers over a team that beat us 28-2 previously this season. In the end, we lost, but the improvement showed.”minith brandsstorageeddie
