The Fruitport boys bowling team was dominant on Monday, picking up an easy 29-1 victory over Godwin Heights in O-K Silver conference action.
The Trojans swept the baker rounds to take an early 10-0 lead, then swept both regular games to make it 20-0.
Fruitport’s last nine points came from winning 9 of the 10 head-to-head matchups.
Claiming victories in the first regular game were Dylan Winskas, Corbin Judd, Keenan Camp, Michael Hanson and Bradley Dekker.
Hanson had the team-high score of 169.

Winning in the second regular game were Devin Winskas, Josh VanStelle, Dylan Winskas and Josh Durakovic.
Durakovic had Fruitport’s high score of 182. VanStelle and Devin Winskas both earned their first varsity wins.
The Trojans improved to 7-3 overall on the season and 5-3 in conference play.
“We are happy to start this long week of bowling with a win,” said Fruitport Coach Tim McKeeby. “We had most of last week off due to the weather, so we were a little rusty.”
The improving Fruitport girls team also played well, but came up short in an 18-12 loss to Godwin Heights.

The Trojans had some bright spots, winning the first baker game and the first regular game, totaling eight points.
They also earned four points with two individual victories by Kyleigh O’Connell and one apiece by Gen Franklin and Harper Simila.
Simila had a career-high score of 170 in Game 2.
“Our lack of stamina got to us,” McKeeby said. “We started off the first baker game strong and bounced back in the first regular game after we dropped the second baker. The Godwin Heights girls team matches up pretty evenly with us, and they were able to stay consistent when we could not.” [4]
