It’s still early in the season, but the Fruitport boys bowling team is starting to build some momentum.

The Trojans improved their dual match record to 4-0 on Monday with a convincing 29-1 victory over Belding in O-K Silver conference action.

The Trojans swept both baker games and the bonus points, along with the two regular games and bonus points.

They won the baker games 170-140 and 167-157 and the regular games 813-667 and 808-624.

Bradley Dekker, Shane Brosnan, Keenan Camp and Michael Hanson each won both of their head-to-head regular games. Zach Durakovic won one of his two games.

Dekker had a team high score of 185 in the first game. Camp rolled a 189 in the second game while Dekker had a 182.

“It was a great day for us!” said Fruitport Coach Tim McKeeby, whose team is 2-0 in conference play. “We had a lot of fun and bowled well. Our bowlers were focused on picking up their spares and staying positive.

“Bradley Dekker, Michael Hanson and Keenan Camp were our strongest bowlers today. It was nice to see Shane Brosnan and Keenan Camp in full swing and bowling their best. Captain Zach Durakovic continues to show that his leadership is one of our main keys to success.”

The Fruitport girls struggled in their match, falling to Belding 28-2.

Harper Simila and Joe Pider each won a single regular game to secure the two team points. Simila had a team-high score of 120.

The girls team dropped to 1-2 on the season, but Coach McKeeby remains confident.

“If we can stay consistent, our season will turn around quickly,” he said. “We have great people on our team who want to do their best and succeed. We are starting to figure it out, and that was prominent in Kyleigh OConnell’s improvement in today’s match.” [4]th brands [5] [6]eddie [7]
