Fruitport boys bowling team rolls past Spring Lake 22-8 in the latest version of the rivalry match

It looks as though the Fruitport boys bowling team will be winning quite a few matches this season, but beating rival Spring Lake is always a little special.

The Trojans did that on Monday, rolling to a 22-8 victory over the Lakers in a non-conference match.

Fruitport improved to 2-0 on the season. The Trojans will play NorthPointe Christian in their first O-K Silver conference match on Wednesday.

The Trojans won the first regular game 771-718 to earn four points. Corbin Judd, Bradley Dekker and Michael Hanson posted individual wins, earning three more points for their team.

Fruitport won one of two baker rounds, plus the total pin bonus points, to add another six points to their score.

“It’s always a nice feeling to win a rivalry match against Spring Lake,” said Fruitport Coach Tim McKeeby. “I am glad that our boys stayed out of their heads and won the match.

“Zach Durakovic was a great starter for us today and set a great tone during our baker games. Michael Hanson and Bradley Dekker saved us in the first game. Durakovic and Hanson’s leadership kept us focused and determined to win. It was nice to see Keenan Camp back in the lineup and secure his first points of the season.” [4]mini [5]eddie [6]storage [7]
