Senior Vincent Pollock is leaving his mark in the Fruitport cross country record book.
The only question that remains is where he will land on the list of the all-time fastest Trojans.
Pollock finished third individually at Saturday’s Sparta Invitational, with a time of 16:08. That gave him the seventh best time in school history, with a lot of competition still to come.
“He is running with confidence and is looking to move up on the Fruitport all-time leader board before the end of the season,” said Fruitport Coach Randy Johnson.

[2]The Fruitport boys finished third in the team competition with 75 points. Forest Hills Eastern won with 28 points.
Junior Landon Johnson finished 10th with a personal best time of 17:32. Dylan Winskas came in 17th place (18:59), Enzo Aggoune was 24th (20:37) and Drew Powell was 29th (23:48).
The Fruitport girls finished fourth in their race with 84 points. Forest Hills Eastern took first place with 47.
Fruitport’s Valerie Pollock took fifth place individually with a time of 20:05. Peyhton Beardsley was 15th (21:03), Brynley Merkins placed 18th (21:09), Treasure Fleese was 22nd (21:44) and Zoe German was 24th (21:49).
“The girls team is showing me that they have a lot more to give,” Johnson said. “Most of the top seven runners took another 30 seconds to a minute off their best time. Our top five girls are under 22 (minutes) and are working to reach the low 21’s or 20 before regionals. This is a very competitive girls team, they want to improve and it shows.” [3]
