Fruitport golfer Mylee Mineni is gearing up to take on Muskegon County’s best on Wednesday.
Mineni, a senior, has been a near the top of the individual standings at many of her team’s events this season, and should be a solid contender against the area’s other top golfers at Wednesday’s Greater Muskegon Athletic Association City Tournament.
She had another good outing on Saturday, shooting a 46 and finishing fourth individually at the O-K Silver conference jamboree at Orchard Hills Golf Course.
“Mylee has been working on being more consistent from start to finish,” said Fruitport coach Brenda Hansen.
The Trojans did not fare quite as well in the team standings on Saturday, finishing fourth out of four conference teams with 214 points.
NorthPointe Christian took first place with 177 points, followed by Hopkins (200) and Belding (211).
Fruitport freshman Maddie Anderson had a good day, shooting a 53 and finishing 16th individually. So did Kenzie Pate, who shot a 57, her best score of the season so far, and finished 18th.
“Maddie has cemented herself into the second position as a freshman,” Hansen said.
