The Fruitport volleyball team got off to a great start in its new conference on Thursday, and its top player reached a big career milestone.
The Trojans hosted NorthPointe Christian in an O-K Silver conference matchup and walked away with a straight set victory.
The scores were 25-18, 25-15, 25-21.
Sadie Haase paced the Trojans’ attack with 12 kills, which put her over 1,000 kills for her career.
“That’s an amazing accomplishment for Sadie and for our program,” said Fruitport Coach Nicole Bayle.

Gracelynn Olson set up the Fruitport offense with 21 assists while Emma Danicek served four aces.
Defensively, Emma Fecher led the effort with eight digs.
Fruitport is now 6-5 overall on the season and 1-0 in conference play.
“The team played great tonight in their first home outing,” Bayle said. “I am excited to see the way the girls are developing grit early on in the season.
“We are learning to push through tough circumstances and that is reflected on the scoreboard.”
The Trojans will be in action again on Saturday when they host the Fruitport Invitational. [2]
