For Fruitport golfer Mylee Mineni, it’s probably a shame that Wednesday’s Greater Muskegon Athletic Association City Tournament was postponed, because she was obviously in a zone.

Mineni showed that on Tuesday, tying her own nine-hole school record with a 39 score and finishing in first place individually at the O-K Silver conference jamboree at Egypt Valley Country Club.

She will get her chance against the other top golfers in the area next Wednesday, which is the makeup date for the city tournament.

Mylee Mineni, who took first place at the conference meet on Tuesday.

Mineni’s performance helped the Trojans turn in a strong showing as a team, finishing in fourth place, but only four strokes out of third place and six out of second.

Maddie Anderson shot a 57 for Fruitport and took 15th place. Lainey Bol shot a 62 and finished 18th.

“The girls played well on a more challenging course,” said Fruitport Coach Brenda Hansen. “Our focus last night was to work on hitting one stroke at a time, and the girls did a good job of this.”storageth brands minieddie
