The Fruitport boys soccer team has a lot of players who can do a lot of things, and Davis Johnson is one of them.

On Thursday Johnson was the top offensive star, scoring two goals to lead the Trojans to a 3-0 victory over Comstock Park in an O-K Silver conference matchup.

The win kept the Trojans perfect on the season, with an 8-0 overall record and a 4-0 conference mark.

Davis scored the only goal of the first half, with an assist from Jyles Smith.

Goalkeeper Logan Werschem only had to make one save to record the shutout for Fruitport.

The Trojans will return to action on Saturday morning in a big non-conference home game against a strong Reeths-Puffer squad.

“I’m proud of the boys and their overall effort tonight,” said Fruitport Coach Dan Hazekamp. “We sustained pressure the entire game and generated a lot of scoring chances. Players are stepping into different roles, and we are utilizing our entire roster to navigate the schedule.

“There are some challenging games in our near future, so we look forward to continuing to grow through the successes and struggles. We are looking forward to a good challenge on Saturday against a really good Reeths-Puffer team.”storageth brandsminieddie
