Freshman Dylan Winskas took 41st place while juniors Enzo Aggoune and Josh Vanstelle finished 43rd and 56th, respectively.

Both Fruitport teams teams were without several runners, including standouts Valerie Pollock and Vincent Pollock.

“Today’s meet was just a tune-up race,” said Fruitport Coach Randy Johnson. “We had no expectations and just wanted to get a race to overcome any fears that come with the first race of the season. [3]

“We had a number of athletes gone, but the ones that ran did well. Next week we hope to improve on our times.  Everyone learned a lot from their first race.”

Both the boys and girls teams will return to action on Tuesday at the Fruitport Calvary Christian Invitational. [4]
