Tommy Anderson singled in the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning on Friday, giving the Fruitport baseball team an exciting 5-4 walk-off victory over Ludington in non-conference play.
Fruitport led 2-0 and 3-1 before Ludington rallied and tied the score 4-4 in the top of the seventh, leading to Anderson’s game-winning hit.
The Trojans piled up 10 hits in the victory. Ryan Bosch had three hits, Brady French had two hits and two RBIs and Anderson also finished with two hits.
Hudson Hazekamp, who pitched the top of the seventh for Fruitport, got the win. Christian Kennedy started on the mound and struck out four over six innings.
The Trojans, who broke a two-game losing streak, improved to 13-9 on the season.
Fruitport will host Spring Lake on Tuesday in a conference doubleheader.
