The Fruitport baseball team hit a bump on the road on Thursday, dropping both games of a doubleheader to Coopersville.
The Trojans lost the opener 11-4. Coopersville took control of the contest with six runs in the fifth inning. Brady French and Braxton Ward each had two hits for Fruitport.
The second game was much closer, with Fruitport falling 4-3. The Trojans tied the game up 3-3 in the sixth inning, then Coopersville stole the win with a run in the seventh.
The Trojans outhit the Broncos 10-6 in the game. Ryan Bosch had two hits and two RBIs for Fruitport while Jax Flyinn and Brady French each had two hits. Flynn reached based seven times over the two games.
Bosch also pitched well, going all seven innings in Game 2 and striking out nine while walking one.
The Trojans are now 12-9 on the season.
