Bosch hits a three-run homer that gives Fruitport baseball team a come-from-behind 7-4 win over Coopersville

After a disappointing performance at last weekend’s city tournament, the Fruitport baseball team returned to its winning ways with a 7- 4 victory over Coopersville on the road on Wednesday.

Home runs proved to be the difference for the Trojans, particularly in the sixth inning, when Ryan Bosch hit a three-run blast to break a tie and give Fruitport its winning runs.

The Trojans opened the scoring in the first inning when Ricky Wiggins was hit by a pitch, forcing in a run. They fell behind 4-1, then pulled within a run by scoring twice in the top of the fourth on a solo home run by Trevor Rusnak and an RBI single by Christian Kennedy.

Fruitport fell behind again, then tied the score 4-4 when Wiggins drove in a run on a groundout.

That led the Bosch’s dramatic homer in the sixth.

Bosch, Kennedy and Hudson Hazekamp each had three hits for Fruitport.
