The Fruitport softball team has not been able to play a lot of games so far this season due to weather factors, but the Trojans finally tasted victory on Tuesday.
They went on the road and beat Holland Christian 10-3 in the first game of an O-K Blue conference doubleheader.
Kendall Lee paced the Fruitport offense with three hits while pitcher Brooklyn Russell only allowed one hit.
Fruitport lost the second game 5-3.
Madyson Prout knocked in a run for the Trojans while Brylee Dewitt had one hit.
Russell struck out seven in the loss, bringing her total for the day to 13.
Fruitport is now 1-3 overall and in conference play.
The Trojans will host Whitehall on Thursday in a non-conference game. [2] [3]
