The Fruitport girls tennis team fell 5-3 to Hamilton on Wednesday in an O-K Blue conference clash.
Grace Sweet (No. 1 singles) won her match in dominant fashion, 6-0, 6-1, while Rachel Hines (No. 2 singles) rallied to win her match 6-7, 6-0, 6-2.
Josalynn Nowicki (No.4 singles) won her match 6-4, 6-3 to give the Trojans their last point.
Audra Peterson (No.3 singles) fell in a tightly contested battle, 6-3, 7-5.

Fruitport was swept in the four doubles matches.
“We are still a young team finding our traction here in this young season,” said Fruitport Coach Brad Busscher. “This was our first match of the season and we look to improve quickly with Saturday’s matches giving us an opportunity to demonstrate that improvement.”
The Trojans will next take the court on Saturday at the East Kentwood Invitational.
