The Fruitport boys basketball team went up against the Maroons on Tuesday night, lost the battle of 3-point baskets 12-2, and came out on the short end of a 70-40 final score.

The Fruitport girls team had a similar fate on Tuesday, losing to a Holland Christian squad that made nine triples.

The Trojan boys put up a good fight for one quarter and only trailed 14-13 at the first buzzer.

Holland Christian started pulling away in the second quarter, however, and led 34-17 at halftime and 56-29 headed into the fourth quarter.

DayDay Williams had a very good game for Fruitport with 19 points. Hudson Hazekamp and Ryan Bosch each added six points.

Fruitport dropped to 4-13 overall and 0-9 in O-K Blue conference play. Holland Christian is now 9-8 and 5-4.eddie
