The Fruitport boys bowling team wrapped up a very successful three-event run with a victory over Allendale on Wednesday night.

That followed a tight win over Reeths-Puffer on Monday and a successful outing at the Mona Shores Invitational on Saturday.

The Trojans squeezed past Allendale in an O-K Blue conference match 18-5-11.5.

They started out in rough shape, losing the baker rounds and falling behind 10-0, but bouncing back by dominating the singles rounds 18.5-1.5.

Shane Brosnan and Michael Hanson each won two singles games for Fruitport, Bradley Dekker won one and tied one, and Bradon Krohn and Zach Durakovic each won one.

Brosnan had the high game for Fruitport with a 209 score.

Fruitport won an even closer match against Reeths-Puffer, 16.5-13.5.

The Trojans gained a two-point edge in the baker rounds, which they won 6-4. They gained another important point by winning the singles rounds 10.5-9.5.

Krohn won one singles game and tied another for Fruitport. Durakovic, Dekker and Keenan Camp each won one game.

Krohn had the high score with a 201 game.

The Trojans’ hot streak began on Saturday at Mona Shores, where they finished seventh out of 21 teams in the preliminary rounds, and qualified for tournament playoffs for the first time this season.

The Trojans were eliminated by Grand Haven in the quarterfinals.

Hanson had the best day for Fruitport, finishing eight in the individual standings and winning a medal with a 223-221-618 series.

The Fruitport girls put up a hard fight on Wednesday against Allendale, losing 16.5-13.5.

The Trojans got off to a great start by sweeping the baker rounds 10-0, but came up short in singles 16.5-3.5.

Lily Bontreger won two singles games while Kadie Juska won one.

The girls team lost 29-1 to Reeths-Puffer, with Harper Simila getting the lone singles win for Fruitport.

At Mona Shores, the girls did not qualify for the playoff round, but finished with a total pinfall of 1,200, their highest in a tournament this season.eddie
