Fruitport’s DayDay Williams continued his hot scoring by pumping in 24 points on Friday, but the Trojans fell 79-50 to O-K Blue conference power Hudsonville Unity Christian.

Williams, a sophomore guard, also scored 19 points on Tuesday in a game against Holland Christian.

The Trojans kept pace for the first half, trailing 25-18 after one quarter and 39-31 at halftime, then Unity Christian pulled away in the second half.

Nathan Carlislie added six points for Fruitport while Ryan Bosch and Kyle Burke each scored five.

“We played a very solid first half and competed hard,” said Fruitport Coach Steve Erny. “Unity is an excellent team.

“DayDay Williams is playing his best basketball of the season right now, and even though we lost this game, it was great to see him handle the ball and finish like he did tonight.”

Fruitport is now 4-14 overall on the season and 0-10 in the O-K Blue.
