“I’m proud of the way we competed as a team,” said Fruitport head coach Chad Johnson. “This young team is continuing to grow and get better every day. Aardema, Holt and Lengkeek wrestled tough today. Being able to crack the city finals is a huge accomplishment and a great representation of Fruitport.

Zach Aardema

“Zimmer and Westerlund had a great day as well, being able to win their consolation finals matches to place third.  Also, some guys competed hard today who were not able to get on the podium but were still able to contribute by getting quite a few wins and pins, which was ultimately the reason we were able to take third as a team.

“Good momentum heading into the tail end of our season.”  eddie
