The Fruitport boys basketball team continued to struggle against tough conference opponents on Tuesday, falling 50-29 to Coopersville in O-K Blue action.

The Trojans trailed 17-6 after one quarter, 30-17 at halftime and 44-25 after three quarters.

Kyle Burke led the Fruitport offense with 12 points and Ryan Bosch added nine.

“We are still in the process of learning to do what it takes to compete for four quarters,” said Fruitport Coach Steve Erny. “We executed fairly well but could not consistently knock down open looks or take care of the ball. Coopersville is an excellent team, plays really hard and is well coached. We will bounce back and grow from this.”

The Trojans, now 4-6 overall and 0-3 in conference play, will host Allendale at home on Friday.eddie
