The Fruitport boys bowling team has had a rough go of it lately, with a very close loss to rival Spring Lake last week, followed by a competitive loss to Zeeland on Monday.

The Trojans girls squad also struggled, falling to both Spring Lake and Zeeland by wider margins.

The Spring Lake match was particularly hard for the boys team, with the Trojans coming up on the short end of 15.5-14.5 final score.

The match was touch-and-go all the way. Spring Lake emerged from the baker rounds with a 6-4 lead. Fruitport nearly swept the first round of singles, with Zach Durakovic, Corbin Judd, Michael Hanson and Bradon Krohn all winning their games and Bradley Dekker tying.

Bradon Krohn

The second round of singles did not go so well, with Fruitport only getting two wins, from Judd and Dekker.

Each team earned 10.5 total points in singles competition, so Spring Lake’s edge in the baker score proved to be the difference.

Krohn led Fruitport with singles games of 181 and 182.

The Trojan boys returned to action on Monday and fell to Zeeland 20-10.

Michael Hanson

They led 6-4 after the baker round, bud did not do as well in singles.

Keenan Camp, Dekker and Hanson won games in the first round of singles, but only Judd won in the second round.

Zeeland outscored Fruitport 16-4 in singles and rode off with the victory.

Hanson rolled 171 and 163 games for the Trojans.

In the girls matches, Fruitport fell to Spring Lake 17-3 and Zeeland 28-2.

Kadie Juska and Kaylynn Pavlige won games for the Trojans against Spring Lake while Joe Pider won two games against Zeeland.eddie
