The Fruitport boys and girls bowling teams have been struggling a bit lately, and that continued on Wednesday with a pair of O-K Blue conference losses to Grand Rapids West Catholic.

The Trojan boys lost 21-9.

Fruitport dropped the first baker game, but won the second 193-119 to earn four team points. They also won two bonus points for having the higher overall pin count in the baker rounds.

But the Trojans struggled in singles, gaining only three wins in the two rounds to gain three team points.

Bradley Dekker and Braden Krohn won their games in the first round while Keenan Camp had the only victory in the second round.

Krohn rolled a 212 game to lead the boys team.

The Fruitport girls lost 30-0. Kaylynn Pavlige had a team-high 157 game.

“We were outbowled today,” said Fruitport coach Tim McKeeby. “Our team will figure out a way to overcome this slump. We are looking forward to bouncing back at the Reeths-Puffer Invitational this weekend.”eddie
