The Fruitport girls basketball team fell behind early and could not recover in a 54-42 loss to Coopersville on Tuesday in O-K Blue conference action.
The Trojans fell behind 15-6 after one quarter, then trailed 24-15 at halftime and 44-31 after three quarters.
Izzy Hanson-Wilbur led Fruitport with 11 points while Grace Sweet added nine.
Rhiannon Raleigh had a strong night for the Trojans with six points and seven rebounds.
“We got ourselves in a hole early and battled the whole game to get back into range,” said Fruitport head coach Brian Packard. “Rhiannon Raleigh had her best game of the year and we were able to get some things rolling, but it was too little, too late.”
The Trojans, now 5-4 overall and 0-3 in the conference, will host Allendale on Friday.
