Fruitport’s Tatum Dykstra completed a great season by finishing 39th out of 250 runners on Saturday at the Division 2 state cross country finals at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn.

Dykstra finished with a time of 19:08. Her performance at state followed her 11th place finish at regionals, where she took 11th place with a time of 18:57 to qualify for the finals.

Fruitport’s Vincent Pollock competed in the boys meet at the state finals, finishing 166th out of 252 runners with a time of 17:30. Pollock qualified for state by finishing 18th at regionals with a time of 16:40.

Dykstra and Pollock were the only two Fruitport runners to qualify for the state finals.

The other Trojans runners did well at regionals, however, allowing Fruitport to finish sixth out of 13 teams in the boys competition and sixth out of 14 teams in the girls race.eddie
