Tatum Dykstra now has the best time in the history of the Fruitport girls cross country program.
Dykstra, a senior, finished in 11th place at Saturday’s super competitive Portage Invitational with a time of 18:42, smashing the old record of 18:59.
The entire Fruitport girls team did extremely well at the meet, which had some of the top teams and runners from throughout the state.
The Trojans finished 15th out of a huge field of 47 teams with 457 points. Grand Rapids Christian, which has three runners in the top 20, took first place with 100 points.
Fruitport’s Lauren Lee finished 64th individually with a time of 20:39. Valerie Pollock was 71st with a time of 20:46.

Tresa Dykstra was 156th with a 22:13 mark and Kaylynn Pavlige was 160th at 22:15.
There were a total of 297 runners in the girls race.
In the boys event, Fruitport finished 27th out of 45 teams with 701 points. Pinckney, which had three runners in the top 10, took first place with 115 points.
Vincent Pollock led Fruitport with a time of 16:57 and finished in 75th place out of 326 runners.
Levi Glynn was 103rd with a time of 17:23. Ethan Horan finished 153rd with a 17:54 mark.
Landon Johnson (196th, 18:18) and Alex Wilber (197th, 18:21) rounded out the Trojan scorers.
