Tatum Dykstra now has the best time in the history of the Fruitport girls cross country program.

Dykstra, a senior, finished in 11^th place at Saturday’s super competitive Portage Invitational with a time of 18:42, smashing the old record of 18:59.

The entire Fruitport girls team did extremely well at the meet, which had some of the top teams and runners from throughout the state.

The Trojans finished 15^th out of a huge field of 47 teams with 457 points. Grand Rapids Christian, which has three runners in the top 20, took first place with 100 points.

Fruitport’s Lauren Lee finished 64^th individually with a time of 20:39. Valerie Pollock was 71^st with a time of 20:46.

Tresa Dykstra was 156^th with a 22:13 mark and Kaylynn Pavlige was 160^th at 22:15.

There were a total of 297 runners in the girls race.

In the boys event, Fruitport finished 27^th out of 45 teams with 701 points. Pinckney, which had three runners in the top 10, took first place with 115 points.

Vincent Pollock led Fruitport with a time of 16:57 and finished in 75^th place out of 326 runners.

Levi Glynn was 103^rd with a time of 17:23. Ethan Horan finished 153^rd with a 17:54 mark.

Landon Johnson (196^th, 18:18) and Alex Wilber (197^th, 18:21) rounded out the Trojan scorers.
