The Fruitport boys soccer team’s shutout streak reached a remarkable seven games on Monday when the Trojans went on the road and beat Hamilton 5-0 in the first round of the O-K Blue conference tournament.

Fruitport goalkeeper Logan Werschem stopped four shots and recorded his seventh straight shutout. Sophomore Jorge Burgos-Yack scored a three-goal hat trick for the second straight game.

The Trojans led 2-0 at halftime on goals from Brady Brown and Burgos-Yack.

They added three goals in the second half, with two more from Burgos-Yack and one from Issac VanderMolen.

Braylon Marshall, Ryder Merkins, Isaiah Packard, Ryan Mitchell and Jaxon Stone had assists for Fruitport.

The Trojans, now 13-2-2 on the season, will visit Hudsonville Unity Christian on Wednesday in the second round of the conference tournament. eddie
