Fruitport started postseason play with a bang Thursday night with another shutout in a blowout win over Muskegon. The Trojans won 8-0 in a Division 2 district quarterfinal match.

Logan Werschem made one save in the net as he recorded his 10th consecutive shutout and 12th of the season.

Taylen Acocks and Jorge Burgos Yack both scored twice for Fruitport. Isaac Vandermolen, Brady Brown, Sam Krueger and Jyles Smith each had one goal.

Brown had two assists while Burgos Yack and Braylon Marshall had one each.

Fruitport is now 15-2-3 on the season and advances to face rival Spring Lake in the district semifinals next Thursday at Grand Rapids Northview. The Trojans won their first game with Spring Lake 2-0 on Sept. 18.
