Two days after wasting a 2-0 lead and falling to Ravenna in a grueling five-set match, the Holton volleyball team got back into the swing of things on Thursday night.

The Red Devils traveled to Manistee and cruised past the Chippewas 3-0, with set scores of 25-17, 25-17, 25-12.

Holton’s offense was a group effort, with Ryann Robins leading the way with eight kills, followed by June Newell (6), Aubrey Goyings (5) and Abbie Fowler (3).

Fowler directed the attack with 19 assists.

Fowler also led defensively with 14 digs while Zoey Carty added 10.

“Passing has been an issue for us for a majority of the season, but tonight we passed the best we have all season, and it was great to see our defense step up and push themselves,” said Holton Coach Austin Bectel.

The Red Devils, now 11-12 on the season, will compete in the Muskegon Catholic Central Invitational on Sept. 16.
