Fruitport’s Mylee Mineni keeps flirting with a top 10 finish, but isn’t quite there yet.

The Trojan golfer shot a 48 on Wednesday at the season’s third O-K Blue Conference Jamboree at Pigeon Creek Golf Course.

Mineni tied for 17th place with Spring Lake’s Casey Ireland, but was only two strokes out of tenth place.

Fruitport does not qualify for the team standings in tournaments because it only has four golfers, and five are needed.

But the Trojans continue to compete with all the other schools and are starting to trend better overall.

Colby Thursday shot a 64 for Fruitport on Wednesday, Tatum Anderson shot an 80 and Lily Bontreger shot an 86.

“It’s exciting to see the girls work on bettering their game,” said Fruitport Coach Brenda Hansen. “The girls made a lot of good contact with the ball today.”
