The Fruitport volleyball team picked up a pair of nice victories over the weekend, which should provide some momentum heading into Tuesday’s O-K Blue conference match at Holland Christian.
The Trojans downed Niles in straight sets, 25-13, 25-22 and conference rival Coopersville in three tough sets, 26-24, 20-25, 16-14, at the Byron Center Invitational.
Fruitport also lost two matches, 25-23, 25-22 to Otsego and 25-19, 19-25, 18-8 to Grand Rapids West Catholic.
Sadie Haase had a good tournament for the Trojans, recording 34 kills and serving seven aces. Gracelynn Olson had 57 assists and Lauren Reidel had 57 digs.
The Trojans enter the week with a 10-15 overall record.
