The Fruitport boys soccer team improved to 3-0 on the season with a pair of wins on Saturday over Shelby and Ludington.
The Trojans downed Shelby 3-0 with goals from Jax Flynn, Braylon Marshall and Ryder Merkins. Marshall also had two assists while Logan Werschem posted the shutout in goal.
Fruitport fell behind Ludington 1-0 early in the second half of the next game, but Merkins scored twice, with assists from Taylen Acocks and Brady Brown, to give the Trojans a tight 2-1 victory.
[1]Werschem was very strong in net against Ludington, posting 10 saves to preserve the win.
Coach Dan Hazekamp credited Brady Brown, Braxton Ward, Sam Krueger and Isaiah Packard with great performances on the defensive backline and Grade Anspach and Davis Johnson with strong play in the midfield.
The Trojans will play West Michigan Aviation Academy on Monday.
