The Ravenna softball team slugged its way to a doubleheader sweep of Hesperia Wednesday. Ravenna scored more than 40 runs on the day, winning by scores of 24-0 and 17-0.
In Game 1, Emma Gillard, Riley Homoly and Addison Gillard each pitched one inning, tallying one, one and two strikeouts, respectively.
Kara Postema led the offense with three hits including a home run. Addison Gillard had a home run and a double, Emma Herremans had a triple and a double and Emma Gillard, Homoly, Kendra Denhof and Emily Postema each had a hit.
Addison Gillard got the win in Game 2 and struck out two batters. Homoly finished the game and had three strikeouts.
Emma Gillard was 4-for-4 with a home run in Game 2, while Emily Postema tallied three hits. Denhof had a pair of hits, while Ellie Solem, Kara Postema and Macy Nelson had one each.
Fremont, Montague split twin bill

Reeths-Puffer swept in doubleheader series by Zeeland East

GAME 2: ZEELAND EAST 10, REETHS-PUFFER 2
Reeths-Puffer: Kaylee Jones three hits (one triple, one double).

Kent City swept in doubleheader by Big Rapids
