Fruitport’s Grace Sweet and Rachel Hines were at the top of their games last Saturday, posting perfect 3-0 records and winning flight championships at their own Fruitport Invitational.

Sweet, the No. 1 singles player, posted straight set victories over Muskegon Catholic’s Mackenna Pratt, Reeths-Puffer’s Brooke Titus and Coopersville’s Isabelle Kunnen.

Hines, at No. 2 singles, did the same against Muskegon Catholic’s Jasmeen Kaur, Reeths-Puffer’s Olivia Harris and Coopersville’s Olivia Ludquist.

Their strong performance helped Fruitport finish second in the team standings with 13 points. Reeths-Puffer won with 19 points, while Coopersville had 10 and Muskegon Catholic totaled 6.

Fruitport’s other two singles players, Audra Peterson Nanami Hoshino, also contributed to the cause by posting 2-1 records.

Peterson defeated Muskegon Catholic’s Lily Kotecki and Coopersville’s Charlotte Kunnen before falling to R-P’s Mylie Neel.

Hoshino beat Muskegon Catholic’s Molly Caughey and Coopersville’s Abby Mast before losing to R-P’s Molly Matz.
