Fruitport’s Nathan Carlisle became an O-K Blue conference champion and earned All-Conference honors on Friday by winning the long jump at the O-K Blue conference championship track meet at Hudsonville Unity Christian High School.

Carlisle won the event with a jump of 20 feet, 2.75 inches. He beat out second-place Brock Jones of Allendale, who topped out at 19-06.75.

Several other Fruitport boys did well at the meet. Payton Flores came in fourth place in the discus event with a personal record throw of 130 feet and 2.25 inches. Levi Glynn finished in sixth place in the 400-meter dash. Vincent Pollock finished in eighth place in the 1600-meter run with a personal record run of 4:44.03.

The 4×400-meter relay team of Nash Cooper, Ryder Merkins, Levi Glynn and Payton Flores finished in fifth place with a season best time of 3:37.09. The 4×800-meter relay team of Levi Bol, Merkins, Johnathon McMullin and Pollock finished in fifth place with a season best time of 8:40.49.

In the girls competition, Fruitport’s Tatum Dykstra took third place in the 3,200-meter run with a time of 12:28.54. Julia Smith took third place in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.93.

Tresa Dykstra was fifth in the 400-meter run with a time of 1:04.52, Lauren Lee was fifth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:36.10, Valerie Pollock was sixth in the 3,200-meter run with a time of 12:44.76, and Jada Wright was ninth in the long jump with a high mark of 14 feet and half an inch.

Fruitport’s 4×800-meter relay team of Tresa Dykstra, Tatum Dykstra, Valerie Pollock and Lauren Lee took fourth place with a time of 10:33.47.

Both the Fruitport boys and girls teams finished in eighth place in the team standings.
