The Fruitport softball team’s recent surge had an off day on Tuesday when the Trojans dropped a pair of road games to Hamilton in O-K Blue conference play.

Fruitport fell 9-1 in the opening game. Hamilton took control by piling up 11 hits in the first six innings.

Kadence Springstead and Brylee DeWitt each had a hit for the Trojans.

Fruitport’s Teagan Schultz, who had two hits in Game 2.

Things didn’t improve in the second game, which Fruitport lost 15-2. Hamilton’s bats were hot again, again collecting 11 hits to build a big lead.

The Trojans will host Forest Hills Eastern for a doubleheader on Thursday, then will host several teams in the Fruitport Invitational on Saturday.
