The Fruitport golf team is continuing to find its game as the season progresses.
The Trojans had a very strong outing on Friday, setting a school record with a nine-hole team score of 165 at the latest O-K Blue conference tournament at Oak Ridge Golf Club.

The final standings were deceptive, because Fruitport finished fifth but was only five shots out of second place. Hudsonville Unity Christian took first with a score of 151.
“Our team played really well,” said Fruitport Coach Aaron Gregory. “I am incredibly proud of our effort and the way in which we continue to improve. Different guys are stepping up each week.
“If we continue to improve week to week like we have been, there is no telling what the end of the season could hold.”

Ryan Sloan had a great day for Fruitport, shooting a 38 and finishing in third place in the individual standings. Macen Benderman shot a 40 and finished 11th, followed by Chase Sullivan (42, 16th place), Andres Cribley Cotto (45, 29th place) Tyler Carlson (47, 39th place) and Hayden Winskas (50, 45th place).
