Sophomore pitcher Ryan Bosch threw another gem on Wednesday, allowing only one hit and striking out 10 batters in Fruitport’s 4-1 victory over rival Spring Lake.
The game was tied 1-1 in the sixth inning, when the Trojans plated three runs to take control of the game. Bosch scored on a passed ball, then two more runs scored on a fielders choice out by Avery Lambers and an error on the play.
[1]Bosch and Brady French each had one hit for Fruitport in the tightly contested game.
The Trojans lost the second game of the doubleheader 7-2.
Spring Lake scored in the first inning, then the Trojans tied the score when a run scored on a sacrifice bunt by Jax Flynn.
[2]The Lakers took control in the third inning with a three-run homer by Gerrit Lyyski, who also pitched the win by scattering three hits over six innings with seven strikeouts.
Lambers, French and Christian Kennedy each had one hit for Fruitport.
Kennedy took the loss on the mound but struck out six in the effort.
