Mona Shores picked up a pair of close wins in O-K Green action Wednesday, winning two one-run decisions with Zeeland West. The Sailors took the first game of the doubleheader 1-0 before winning 5-4 in the nightcap.
Jaxon Huffman dominated Game 1, tossing a one-hitter while striking out 14 over 7 innings.
The lone run of the game came after Huffman reached on an error and pinch-runner Liam Gosset eventually scored on a wild pitch.
Javanni Johnson starred in Game 2, leading on the mound and at the dish. Johnson allowed just one earned run on six hits with five strikeouts to earn the win. He also crushed a pair of home runs and drove in four Sailor runs.
Ethan Ring picked up the save for Mona Shores. Jaden Thomas had two hits, including a double, and an RBI. Bryson Belanger and Zach Keessen both had two hits.
Mona Shores is now 15-2 overall this season and 10-1 in O-K Green play. The Sailors host the Dux for a single game Thursday.
Ludington and Whitehall split doubleheader

Fruitport and Spring Lake split doubleheader series

Fruitport: Pitcher Ryan Bosch one hit allowed, 10 strikeouts, win on the mound.
Spring Lake: Pitcher Zane Stahl two hits allowed, eight strikeouts.

Spring Lake: Gerrit Lyyski seven strikeouts, win on the mound, three-run-home run.

North Muskegon sweeps Hart in doubleheader
