The Mona Shores softball team cruised to a doubleheader sweep on Thursday night.

The Sailors won the opening game against Forest Hills Eastern 11-5, then took the nightcap by a 13-2 margin.

In Game 1, Grace Michelli pitched the victory, allowing three hits while striking out 10 batters.

Maggie McCarthy and Maddy Russell led the offense with three hits apiece, while Brooklyn Graham added two, including a homerun. Amelia Pena also homered.

In Game 2 Michelli earned the win, allowing three hits and striking out two batters while getting 10 outs of ground balls.

Kylie Geoghan paced Mona Shores with three hits and three runs scored, while Kristen Hylland had two hits and a walk. Michelli also added two hits, including a homerun, and drew two walks.

The Sailors improved to 4-1 on the season and 2-0 in conference play.
