It was a total team effort for the Muskegon Lumberjacks on Friday night in Green Bay.

Six different players each found the back of the net to lead the Jacks to a 6-3 win over Gamblers at the Resch Center.

The Lumberjacks improved to 26-28-3 on the season, good for 55 points and seventh place in the USHL’s Eastern Conference.

The top six teams qualify for the Clark Cup playoffs and the Jacks are seven points back with five game to go.

Muskegon can only earn 10 remaining points in the standings, so the Jacks must win out and get some help from teams above them in the standings.

The Lumberjacks will finish their final road trip tomorrow with a rematch against Green Bay before closing out the season with four straight games at Trinity Health Arena.

The Jacks led 2-1 after the first period as Teddy Spitznagel opened the scoring at the 15:28 mark, the Gamblers tied the game 17:40 into the stanza with a goal from Raimonds Vitolins and Luke Buss scored for Muskegon with just over a minute left.

The Gamblers retied the game 2-2 on a goal from Jimmy Clark 1:53 into the second period.

Muskegon responded with goals from Bauer Berry (6:30) and Cody Croal (7:46) to take a 4-2 lead heading into the third period.

The Jacks increased their lead to 5-2 with a goal by Owen Keefe at the 8:15 mark of the third period.

The Gamblers cut their deficit to 5-3 with Clark’s second goal of the contest at the 15:07 mark of the final stanza.

Justin Solovey closed out the scoring for Muskegon 16:53 into the third period.

Green Bay outshot the Jacks by a 52-26 margin as Raythan Robbins stopped 49-of-52 shots on goal.

The Lumberjacks failed to score on their three power play attempts, while killing four-of-six Green Bay man advantages.
