Fruitport sophomore Julia Smith had a personal best night in two events on Tuesday.
Smith won the 100-meter hurdles with a personal record time of 17.81 in a dual track meet against Spring Lake.
She also captured first place in the long jump with a personal best mark of 15 feet, 1.75 inches.
Smith was responsible for two of Fruitport’s four first-place finishes. The Trojans fell to the Lakers 98-37 in the overall competition.
Junior Tatum Dykstra also had a big day, winning the 1,600-meter run with a personal best time of 5:43.3.
The other title for the Trojans came in the 4×400-meter relay, where the team of Lauren Lee, Tatum Dykstra, Brooke Sweet and Tresa Dykstra turned in a winning time of 4:43.96.
The Fruitport girls and boys track teams will compete again on Thursday at home against Grand Rapids West Catholic.
