The Fruitport boys golf team kicked off its season with a seventh-place finish at the Grand Rapids West Catholic Invitational at The Mines Golf Club in Grand Rapids.
The Trojans shot a 191 as a team, which was eight strokes out of fourth place. Hudsonville Unity Christian won the championship.
Fruitport’s Tyler Carlson and Hayden Winskas both shot a 47 and tied for 24th place overall.

“We didn’t have our best stuff to start the year,” said Fruitport Coach Aaron Gregory.
The Trojans will return to action on Friday at the Thornapple Kellogg Invitational at Yankee Springs Golf Course in Wayland.
