The Fruitport boys golf team finished seventh on Thursday in an O-K Blue Conference meet played at Pigeon Hill Golf Course.
Fruitport finished with a team score of 173. Hudsonville Unity Christian took first place with a 142.
Ryan Sloan was the top golfer for Fruitport, shooting a 42 and finishing 21st in the individual standings.
Hayden Winskas shot a 43 for the Trojans, followed by Macen Benderman, Andres Cribley-Cotta and Chase Sullivan (who all shot 44) and Tyler Carlson, who shot a 49.
“Our team played steady across the board,” said Fruitport Coach Aaron Gregory. “All but one of our players was within two shots of being our top scorer. We played better today than we have so far this year.
“If we can continue to show the improvement we have to start the season we really could have a great year. I am proud of the progress that I keep seeing.” [1]
