The Fruitport baseball team had a tough time getting its offense going on Tuesday and dropped both ends of a conference doubleheader to Hudsonville Unity Christian.
Fruitport lost the opener 3-0 despite outhitting Unity 3-1. The loss wasted a great pitching performance by Ryan Bosch, who threw a no-hit shutout for five innings and struck out eight batters.
Bosch, Avery Lambers and Christian Kennedy each had one hit for the Trojans.

Kennedy and Braxton Ward had the only hits for Fruitport. Kennedy started on the mound, giving up six runs on seven hits through 2 2/3 innings, striking out three.
“Their pitchers did a nice job of attacking us and we just couldn’t seem to square it up,” said Fruitport Coach Nick Reed.
The Trojans, now 2-5 overall and 0-5 in O-K Blue conference play, will host Unity Christian in the series finale on Thursday.
